but what is an associate photographer?
When you book an associate photographer, you’re still hiring the SJ photography brand you trust! You get all of the expertise, guidance, and signature style of the lead photographer, but with an associate handling the actual wedding day coverage. The final gallery still reflects the brand’s aesthetic, including photography and editing style. Associate photographers are great for when a couple loves a photographers work but needs a lower price point or date availability.

If you decide we are the right fit, you’ll receive a custom proposal with your contract and retainer. Once those are complete, your date is officially locked in. Welcome to the SJP family!

Session Planning
We’ll plan your engagement or bridal session — location ideas, outfit guidance, and tips so you feel comfortable and confident.
STEP 03
wedding day prep
I’ll help with timeline flow, prep details, and final check-ins so everything runs smoothly and feels effortless.
STEP 04
wedding day + gallery delivery
You soak it all in while we document the day as it unfolds. Your hand-edited gallery will be delivered for you to relive and share.

FAQ
How many images will we receive from our day?
You’ll receive all of the best images from your day, thoughtfully curated and fully edited. I don’t cap galleries — quality and storytelling always come first.
When will we receive our gallery?
You’ll receive a sneak peek within 72 hours of your session or wedding day. Full galleries are delivered within 2-3 weeks for regular sessions and 6–8 weeks for your wedding gallery, depending on the season.
How do we officially book?
Once you’re ready, I’ll send over a contract and invoice. Your date is reserved with a 30% retainer, I'm happy to work with you on a custom payment plan - just ask!
What's in the bridal welcome package?
I get this question A LOT! These welcome boxes are my favorite way to welcome new brides to the MHP family! Just envision a hand-curated gift box created just for you! Each one is thoughtfully put together to celebrate our partnership and mark the beginning of the wedding journey! Packages often include a mix of custom and carefully selected items, along with a physical wedding guide created by me to help you feel prepared and excited for what’s ahead. No two are exactly the same but they are always a huge hit with my brides and I'm sure you will love yours too!
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes and yes! I carry standard North Carolina business licenses and insurance required by most venues.
How many hours of coverage do we need?
Most couples find that 8 hours of coverage allows their day to be documented fully and without feeling rushed — from getting ready through the main events of the reception. Coverage needs can vary based on your timeline, number of locations, and whether you’re doing a first look or grand exit.
I’m always happy to help you decide. If you’d like, I can create and send a sample timeline tailored to your specific wedding day details to help determine what coverage makes the most sense for you.
so who will be photographing our wedding day?
Associate weddings are photographed by a trusted Magnolia Hues team photographer. Sarah (owner) will handle the planning process and editing so everything remains consistent with the Magnolia Hues style. You will be connected with your photographer during the timeline planning so you can get acquainted prior to the big day!
